Looks
Tiger Beetle like but small jaws
Same
from top, pretty but what are you?
Nothing
too distinguishing on this one, got away before I could
get more pics
THought this would be easy to ID with its red coloring but apparently not.
Here
it is from the side, slight pattern on wings
Finaly
shot, has those small but distinct jaws as well
That
elephant like terrain would be my hand. Very small beetle
and very dehydrated me.
Same
beetle, founf in West Virginia now that i think about it,
ooops, perhaps it is not native to Eastern US.
Just
moved this close to the next tow, looks the same found on
the ground this time.
Fierce
face, long antennae, full body shot to the right
Body shape and antennae like a Flower Longhorn but none
are this color.
Thought it was the ground beetle Lebia Pulchella but the coloring is wrong, but looks to be a relative, soooo pretty
The close to a Lebia Pulchella beetle from top, funny little head
Again from the side, flatter than round
Same from the front, note wee pincer like jaws.
This was shot in the Caribbean, but on the offchance it is also found here, here you go, Loooong antennae like a sawyer or long horn
This looks like a leaf beetle, but the coloring threw me off, also has very thin, longer legs.
Same head on.
Such a distinct red beetle anad no idea what it is.
Same beetle and a penchant for tarring my finger like a grasshopper.
This one has handlebar moustache-like antennae
Very dome shped like swamp milkweed beetle but pointier at top, also coloring quite different.
Shiny dark beetle on a plant blade.
These guys are cool, small as they are on goldenrod blossoms, and have a slight pattern on their shiny domes.
Round
maroon beetle, distinct ridges on back
Another maroon beetle but smooth back and longer
Brownish beetle on leaf, again
Very
small on a spikey plant whose name eludes me again, but
sturdy looking fellow
I am thinking a weevil nose is poking poking out there partially hidden, but still don't know what even so
Colored like a firefly kind of, but much smaller and no protective shield on nape.
This must be a ground or tiger beetle with such shape and coloring but couldn't find it in any guide.
Cute weevil of some sort?
Funny looking, found in caribbean again, but perhaps it's found here as well?
Has a Click Beetle-ish body but coloring all dull black
Same from front
Looks weevil-ish
Tiny shiny black
Same from top, looks almost like a plant bug, uh oh
Swamp milkweed beetle shape but smaller, a Klamathweed Beetle perhaps?
a Klamathweed Beetle perhaps?
Weevil but quite tiny, inside a mullin plant, otherwise I would have thought Flower Weevil
Same from top back side
