This image is deceiving, looks like it has two pairs of wings, but being diptera, has only one pair, you're seeing the shadow.

This one has a fierce face. Landed on the wall at the cottage, so grabbed a flashlight and camera, great wing pattern.

Something very soothing about this image, such a delicate creature on a simple daisy.

This was exciting, bugging in Harriman under the guise of camping, and came upon these mating crane flies. Looks pretty awkward eh?

Really, they look too vulnerable, glad a bird wasn't nearby.

They are really cool looking up close, although I felt badly invading their intimate mating moment.

Not sure how I didn't step on this one, barely visible on the like colored ground.

During a VA zip lining trip, took a break to bug and spotted a flurry of movement under a leaf, poor crane fly caught by wee spider.
