This image is deceiving, looks like it has two pairs of wings, but being diptera, has only one pair, you're seeing the shadow.

This one has a fierce face. Landed on the wall at the cottage, so grabbed a flashlight and camera, great wing pattern.
Something very soothing about this image, such a delicate creature on a simple daisy.
This was exciting, bugging in Harriman under the guise of camping, and came upon these mating crane flies. Looks pretty awkward eh?
Another angle of the awkward pairing
Really, they look too vulnerable, glad a bird wasn't nearby.
They are really cool looking up close, although I felt badly invading their intimate mating moment.
Not sure how I didn't step on this one, barely visible on the like colored ground.
Cool back pattern.
Again, barely visible, this time on a tree trunk.
During a VA zip lining trip, took a break to bug and spotted a flurry of movement under a leaf, poor crane fly caught by wee spider.
Video of that unfortunate crane fly, a little dizzying to watch.
